A look at our learning...
Fundations: we are now working on writing sentences using trick words and words that can be "tapped out." We are working on starting our sentence with an uppercase letter, using two finger word spaces and punctuation at the end of the sentence.
Shared Reading: I will continue to introduce new word wall words on Monday's and have spelling check's on Friday's for the next few weeks. Monday, May 13th will be the last Monday I introduce new words, with the spelling check on Friday, May 17th.
Today we cleaned out our book boxes and brought home many of our Shared Reading books with these words in them. These are for your child to keep at home and read as they wish.
Writing Workshop: we have learned several "sentence starters" to begin opinion writing pieces, as well as several ways to end our work. Check out the ideas below:
Math: we are working on addition and subtraction to 10. They are getting faster at knowing many different ways to make 10.
We are also counting pennies each week for the Columbia Manor penny drive.
