Congratulations to Ember!
She was chosen as our Citizen of the Month for April!
Way to go, we are proud of you!
We were bummed the rainy weather caused us to cancel our field trip to Mizzou today, but we still had lots of fun in our classroom! Check out our day....
We started with a movie this morning. They always look so cute with their pillows and blankets...perfect for a dreary day!
Followed by a picnic lunch in our classroom.....
Tiger Stripe ice cream from Buck's Ice Cream Shop on Mizzou's campus for dessert!
We spent the afternoon making May Day baskets and delivering them around the school. This was a favorite childhood memory of mine and the kids had a blast leaving their flower basket on a door handle, knocking and running away. The smiles and giggles were priceless! Ask your kiddo whose door they left their basket on. Dr. Majerus even tweeted about it on the Beulah Ralph Twitter page!
We ended our day with Mr. Moody, a classroom/lunch/recess aide, coming to talk with us and share pictures from when he was in the Navy many years ago. The ship he worked on would meet the astronauts when they came back from space and parachuted into the ocean. It was Mr. Moody's Navy ship that would pick up the astronauts and bring them back to land. So cool! He knew we went to the planetarium last week and thought we'd enjoy hearing his stories! How special it was to listen to Mr. Moody and see his pictures!
Even though we had to stay at school today, I think fun was had by all!
