Thank you!

Thank you!!!

Every year I am blown away at the generosity shown from students and parents during Teacher Appreciation Week!  From the kid made cards and pictures to the MANY food treats (I probably gained 10 pounds this week), gifts and flowers I am forever grateful! I failed at taking pictures of everything, but below are a few I did get!  It may sound corny, but teaching your amazing children is truly the best gift!  Over my 14 years of teaching I have taught approximately 275-300 children (WOW!) and they all will forever be my "kids" and I will always love them and remember them!  My greatest wish is that they always remember their Kindergarten teacher with fond memories as well!  I can't wait to see where this great group of 19 kiddos will go in the next 5, 10, 20 years!  Please stay in touch and keep me updated!

The last days...
Library Check-out: This past Tuesday was our last library check-out day for the school year.  Please have the kiddos return their library books on Tuesday like normal, but know they will no longer be checking out and bringing home new books.

Reading Homework: This week was our last week for Tuesday/Thursday night reading homework.  The kiddos will not bring home reading bags next week.  Please continue to read/have your child read to you for 20 minutes at least 4 times per week throughout the summer.  It is statistically proven that if children are not read to/read to others during the summer, they will slide backwards in their learning.  Meaning if they are leaving Kindergarten on reading level, but do not read regularly over the summer, will not enter first grade on level.  "The Summer Slide" is a real thing!  So keep on reading!  They had a blast at the public library this year and I encourage you to visit this summer!

Counselor: Wednesday was our last counselor session for the year.  We have enjoyed our twice a month lessons with Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Davison and Mrs. Roof!  They talked about all of the things they have learned this year, things they are grateful for, things they love about their teacher (awwww) and favorite memories.  It was a very sweet lesson and I loved hearing all they had to share!
