Fire Safety Week

October 8-14 is Fire Safety Week
Today we had Mr. Herman, Abbie's dad from Mrs. Reinkemeyer's class, come and talk to us about fire safety.  He is a firefighter with the Brentwood Fire Department.
We will read books and do activities all week long centered around fire safety.
Mr. Herman taught us that we should change our smoke detector batteries twice a year AND have an escape plan that we practice at our house with our families that includes 2 ways out of our house if there is a fire.
Do your kiddos know the plan for your family?
If not, this is a great time to practice!

Human Body Science Unit
This week we are beginning a science unit on the human body.  Mrs. Fitch and I are team teaching this unit.  We will spend between 1.5-2 hours each day this week and on Monday of next week doing fun lessons and activities.  Take a look at some of our work from today!  You can also see some of their work displayed on the library windows across from the gym.

Attendance
Last week our class had the best attendance out of the entire school!  It was announced today at our Monday Morning Meeting.  We earned an extra recess one day this week as a reward!  Every Monday the winning class will be announced and also receive an extra recess.  I'm so proud of our class for winning the first week.  Let's keep those attendance numbers up!
The kids look great wearing their BEU gear on Monday Spirit Day!!
