September Citizen of the Month

Yay Owen!
He was chosen as our very first
Citizen of the Month
for the month of September!
This award is chosen by his classmates.  They have been thinking of a friend who they think follows the 5 BEU student characteristics: kind, respectful, responsible, positive, problem solver.  They each were able to privately vote for one friend they thought fit these words.  I told them they could share who they voted for with their families, but keep it a secret from their peers.  We want them to vote for who they think is the best choice, rather than be influenced by their peers. The student who had the majority of the votes is our winner that month.  Although I don't vote, I couldn't have hand-picked a better first winner for our classroom!  This truly shows that the children are aware of those making good choices around them and what a BEU student should be like!

Every month we will vote and the winner will be presented their award at a special assembly

Below are the winners from K-1 (one student from each classroom, plus a specialist picks a grade level winner that they notice works hard in specials)
